Kara shifted on the bed, throwing her legs over the side and standing shakily. She still didn't believe them, despite Sam's reassurances. The past had taught her trust was not given easily. She looked around for her clothes, ignoring the stares from the other two and spotted them, folded and in a pile on the small table in the corner. On wobbly knees she stumbled over to them, grabbed them and faced Sam and Scar. "You'll have to forgive me, but I don't believe a word you’re telling me. And if you'll excuse me, I'm leaving." She made her way to the door, slipping out as Sam jumped up, starting after her. She didn't give them a parting glance as she melted into the crowd, shifting appearances.

Later in the day, Kara found herself at a cafe, sipping a cup of coffee in the light of the afternoon sun. A paper was spread out before her, but her eyes were not on it. She was searching from behind the lenses of her over sized sun glasses. Her fingers tightened fractionally around the coffee cup when she felt a heavy gaze settle on her. Gathering her paper and her stolen bag, she pushed away her chair and stood, turning to leave when two hands gently cupped her shoulders. She froze when owner of the hands spoke, his voice all smoke and seduction.

"Kara my love, we didn't get to talk before your...sudden departure." The scent of him settled over Kara, the strong Italian cologne. Her heart stopped and hateful images flashed through her mind. She tensed and clenched her bag tighter in her fists, readying to flee. He felt her tense and leaned in close to her ear, his breath warm on her neck.

"You’re not running this time love. Nor will your shifting help. My best Watcher is connected to you and can find you anywhere..." The voice drifted off and his hands gently sat her back down. She watched as he walked around the table, seating himself across from her.

Early civilizations recognized only five planets — Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn — the ones bright enough to show up easily to the naked eye. Astronomers using telescopes discovered three more during the past 225 years: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
