Reading Your Name

Whenever you're reading a book, or anything really, and you stumble across your name in context...what's your reaction? It always seems to catch me off guard because my name (Whitney) isn't too terribly popular.

This happened to me today when I was reading chapter 1 of Midnight Sun...

"It helps if you think of them as people," Alice suggested, her high, musical voice too high for human ears to understand, if any had been close enough to hear. "Her name is Whitney. She has a baby sister she adores. Her mother invited Esme to that garden party, do you remember?"

The first time I read that I was like, oh dang!, and got really excited. Can you imagine if your name was Bella and you read these books..that would be the bomb..

Hahh. That would be awesome! But it would also be sort of weird, in a way. Because everyone would be talking about 'Bella' and I don't know about you, but I'd get confused.
That would be so weird if your name was Bella and then you actually looked somewhat like how Stephenie described her.
Wow.

But, my name is fairly common and there are several books that I've read that the main character is Anna and its soo weird. Most of the time I'll just pretend its named something else so i can stop imagining myself in her shoes. Lol. Sorry that was a bit confusing.

Sadly, my name (spelled the same) is rarely in books. You just do not see many Kathryn's.

Aww. But that means its unique!
And i would kill for a more unique name.
Anna is just so... common. ]:

however, it gets misspelled a lot! I have only met 2 other people with their name spelled the same way!

It always weird's me out when i read Embry's name, too. Emery is like my favorite name for a girl so I always think he's a girl when I read about him because it's so close lol.

I dunno. Maybe I'll go by Annelise. but everyone pronounces it wrong, and it bugs me when they do.

I don't see my name in books, but I hate hearing about Keira Knightley because her name is so close to mine.. mine's Kiera and pronounced the same way!

that has to stink! I have my last name mispronounced a ton too.

I have a girl in my class that has my name too, so when the girls in my class hve read the book call me they call me bella instead cause i am so like her

Anna is pronounced as ah-nah or on-ah.
not ann-a.
everyone tells me i should spell my name like Onah.
but then people would still say it wrong, probably like oh-nah.


and then annelise is prounced
ah-nah-lees.

Yeah well when I first read the books I was like thats great I the animal like vampire that tries to kill Bella, but you know my name Victoria I really did not like it at all but I got over it :) Now my friends who have read Twilight are like why would you want to kill Bellla? I just laugh it off any one else have the misfortune of being a killer in a book?

That's really pretty. It's like the same as how I pronounced my name, Ana, in spanish class lol.
I personally don't really like my name because it's kind of hard to say, something about the emphasis being on the first syllable that really just bothers me.

lol I wish I was a killer in a book, but sadly I'm just a girl that Jasper imagines killing...what a bummer. You should totally be Victoria for Halloween or something Bella45!

My name isn't exactly often in books, actually I don't think I've ever seen it:/ well, it's Emilie... Oh, and I found out that my grandmother's aunt is named Rosalie

Oh Emilie just reminds me of an old English name or something, very cool.

Thank you Personally I don't really like it, cos almost every five year old in Norway is named Emilie:( but not so many at my age though...

I've always like the name Emelie it's really pretty.

Embry reminds me of Embryo.. hehehe.. and Quil reminds me of a quill..


people have a hard time saying my name.. Sarahi.. they get all confused like it's spelled a different language..
