| I was a big reader all my life and then I just had a falling out with it.. or something, and then I had the urge to read one day and went to Chapters and bought 3 books, one of them being Twilight. So, Stephenie didnt start me reading, but she definitely got me back into it. | |

| I was basically in the same kind of situation as dirty_wings. Somewhere during the start of high school, I fell out of the whole reading fiasco...Then one day, on my little sister's birthday on October 17, my mom pulled me out of school early to take me, her, my sister, and my smallest sister (three months old at the time) to Downtown Disney in Anaheim.
I ended up realizing I was brought along to carry everyone's shopping bags (ch'yea, figures). So as compensation, I go to go to the bookstore righ before we left to find a manga I'd been wanting to buy. The bookstore ended up not having it, so I browsed around the shelves until a thick book with a picture of pale hands holding an apple came into view. I picked it up and remembered seeing it the whole past year whenever I went to Barnes and Noble. On a whim, and since I honestly felt like spending what little money I had on a book, I bought it.
Needless to say, after reading that, New Moon, and whatever sites I could find on the two, I had the need to read more of something, anything. So I bought the rest of Meg Cabot's "Mediator" series that I'd started reading a while ago but never finished. Once that was done, I printed out the Twilight Myspace Group's Book Recommendations and checked out a bunch. Thanks to them, I am now a fan of Scott Westerfeld and Anette Curtis Klause. I'm still attempting to read the others (long list).
Now kudos to anyone who even attempted to read my insanely large story xD

Now kudos to anyone who even attempted to read my insanely large story xD Dont worry, I read your insanely huge story. Thats pretty much how I ended up buying Twilight. I was reading some Darren Shan books, and I went to Chapters to pick up the third book in the Darren Shan Serise. I had $40 worth of Chapters gifts cards that I had gotten for Chrismas, and after I bought that, I started looking around. After a while, I noticed the same book with the apple. Like you, I had been seeing it for months on the same shelf, and I read the back. It sounded quite interesting. A girl falling in love with a vampire that thirsted for her blood. Nice plot. So I bought it, brought it home, and we were inseperable for 2 and a half days (thats how long it took for me to finish it).

| Ever since I was little, I read. and read, and read and read and read. Now it's at the point where I read wicked fast, and mom refuses to buy me books because I read them too fast. ( think Harry Potter 5 in 8 hours) ( Also think Gone with the Wind and To kill a mockingbird in 5th grade) Twilight just got added to the fire, but i've read it about 50 million times. | |

| No. I'm a big reader...I've read a lot ever since I learned how to. But recently...I found that I couldn't find any books that I truly liked. I'm very picky. So I stuck to MCR fanfics for a while. I often talked to my school's librarian about my situation...and since she's so cool, she said I should read Twilight. She said I would love it, and I did. <333 | |

| Actually, even thought Stephenie is a great author, I love Twilight, and am in love with a fictional vampire because of it (Edward!) it didn't get me into reading. Sorry, Steph, but JK Rowling beat ya to me! Yes, Harry Potter got me reading, back in Second or third grade. I've always been a good reader (Taught myself to read) but, HP got me into it, not Twilight. But Twilight did do something for me. It got me to believe that Lone Star books don't ALL suck! I have to thank my friends for me reading it though. If they hadn't told me how good it was, I wouldn't have even tried reading it! (Because it was a Lone Star) The cover didn't really atract me at first, and I usually don't read first person books, but I finally found one I liked! (Loved) | |

| No, I've always loved reading. I remember I was with my mom shopping and there was a section for books at the store. I had already read all of my books and wanted something that I wouldn't zip right through. (I've always been a super-fast reader) I picked out Twilight because it was huge and it was about vampires which I've always loved. Of course I wound up reading that in 2 days because I couldn't put it down and immediately rushed back to the store for New Moon and Eclipse. | |
