I think Jasper asks so differently because he's a military person. So, when there's a job to do (like protecting Bella) he's fine. But it changes when he's no "on a mission"
oh, and for whoever was asking whether alice and jasper were married, it says in the twilight lexicon personal correspondence that they got married, but only once

At least Jasper doesn't have a God-complex like Edward (but I bet he's not as gorgeous) and he's not as manipulative as Alice, he is very careful with his power and he doesn't mean to do anything to hurt people. Old habits die hard.

Whew. I haven't posted here yet so I will. I think I love the cautious side of Jasper. It makes him more Jaspery. Missbad92 I love your idea. I think that is pretty accurate. Alice can be manipulative and Edward is god-like AND can read minds. So he can be pretty scary. Okay I am getting off topic so I am going to stop.

Personally, I like all of Jasper's sides, the cautious, the violent, the mysterious, I like them all. I think it just makes him all the more interesting... if there was a book on Jasper I would soak every word up like a sponge... and I'm dead serious.... That's one of the reasons I like Jasper because he has so many sides, that and he has a really interesting past...
