| O HAI GUYZ !Hey guys I'm spending the night at Dizzy's house and so we are making up some photography lessons. Our first lesson will be about the rule of thirds, which is an essential rule to good photography. Remember that this is less of a rule and more of a guideline. You can always stray from this rule if it makes for a better picture. Photography wouldn't be creative and fun if we always had to follow the same rules, right? Right! Along with the examples we'll provide, here is a helpful website Dizzy and I found. Here's the site: CLICKOkay, now it's time for examples. All of the pictures that we'll use in this example belong to Dizzy and me respectively, so use them without asking and we'll kill you <3 EXAMPLE ONE: This example uses the rule of thirds. This is a picture that I took of Dizzy when she slept over at my house <3. Dizzy is positioned on the far right vertical rule of thirds line (or right about there). The dancer on the left is also on a thirds line. You have to be careful using two points of interest since sometimes this can create a cluttered picture. In this situation, it was kind of unavoidable so I dealt with it and made the best of it. CLICK FOR PICEXAMPLE TWO (And now I don't feel like typing so Dizzy is going to type this one): This example also uses the rule of thirds. Caity's eye is right on an intersection of one vertical and one horizontal rule of thirds guideline. Using the intersection of two rule of third guidlines helps focus the attention to a certain point even more, but isn't necessary for a quality focus. CLICKHEREKTHNXBAIYOUR ASSIGNMENT: Take one or two example photos using the rule of thirds. If you are unable to upload, search the internet for examples. Good luck ! Love, Caity and Dizzy <3

| Would THIS IMAGE be an example, with the branches on the top horizontal thirds line? Obviously it is not perfect, but, is it the general idea? | |

| It depends what you wanted your point of focus to be. If you wanted it as the branch, its perfect. If you wanted it as the leaf then its not xD. But as long as you intended the branch to be the point of focus then yes, it is good |
