Weekly Contests ! UPDATED, PLEASE REREAD

I hate finalssss.
They kill my internet social life.
And that's important.
...yeah.

Anyway. I have an idea.
The photography class will now have a weekly contest.
Nothing with new cars or free laptops or "OMG YOU JUST WON A MILLION DOLLARS WOOO",
but a contest that helps give you more control over what you learn.

It'll go like this.
Each week will have a theme, and you have to take a photograph which is also of that theme.
For example, if the theme was black and white, I could post this photo:

Or if the theme was something different, like an emotion or feeling, I would choose this image to represent something ominous:

And so on and so forth.

The contest part goes like this.
Each week, starting on Sunday and ending on Thursday (for the sake of time, since not everyone can log on daily), everyone who wants to post a photo related to the theme may.
Submissions will end on Thursday, giving a five day period to take and upload a picture. (Remember, the picture must be YOURS--no going to photobucket or stealing a friend's. That's not fair.)
On Friday, the submission thread will be locked, and a new thread will appear. The new thread will be a poll, in which you, the members of this class, may vote for the image you feel best represents the theme.
On Saturday (or Friday, depending on when I can log on) the person who got the most votes will be announced as the contest winner.
The prize of the contest is to pick the theme for the next week. The theme must be run through me first, however, so I can make sure we don't have any repeats.
Then the cycle continues on.

I think this is a pretty neat idea, but I'm also biased. Let me know what you guys think. As soon as I get five or more responses telling me their opinions, I'll move on with the majority--either doing this or not doing it.

1. You can't choose a theme that has already been chosen.

2. As you know, the winner of a contest gets to pick the next theme but if you do not choose a theme and post a new topic by the next Monday, Caity and I will have to step in. We will choose our own theme and you will have to wait until the next time you win to choose the theme.
