What type of book are you writing?

I'm just curious what type of stories people write and how they came about this inspiration. The idea for my book just randomly popped into my head and it turns out that it's literary fiction. I've never even heard of that before, so it wasn't like I chose it. How about you guys and girls? Did you pick your genre based on your favorite genre to read? Do you find that specific type easiest to write? Or rather, you chose a genre that you've always wanted to write about but never got the chance? I want to hear all about it !

I come up with the story, and the genre does not really limit me.

To be honest, I don't have a clue what genre my novel idea is XD

If a professional wrote my book, though, I would totally read it. My idea just kind of came to me late at night.

A professional wouldn't write my book, but that's okay.
Genres and me don't get along.
I have trouble classifying things.
I prefer to organize my books by color.

I'm writing a book about a guy writing a book about a guy who died while trying to write a book.... 0.o not really.

i'm pretty sure. look up The Secret Window... i've only seen the movie. but its still pretty epic.

The novella was called Secret Window, Secret Garden.
And the plot was a little different.
but you're right, they're similar.
