Summary: AU. Join Edward, Alice, Bella and the rest of the Forkians as they embark through elementary school.
Chapter 1: French Toast, School and Notes
Edward’s PoV
I stared out the window at the rain. Why did it always rain in Forks? Why couldn’t it be hot and sunny for once?
“But I don’ wanna go to school!!” I heard Emmett whine from the
kitchen. A sigh escaped my lips and I got up, walking into my sister’s
room.
“Hey Ally.” She giggled at me. “Hey Eddie.” I frowned, glaring at her for her choice of a nickname. She knew I hated it! “Are you ready for school again?” She hopped off the top bunk of her bunk-bed. Hey voice was high pitched, but not in an annoying way like Lauren’s.
Her question made me think of the new girl in school, Isabella Swan. Bella, as she asked everyone to call her. "I guess I hafta be.” I told Alice, shrugging. She laughed at me, and I decided to leave her to her peppy self. I walked down to the kitchen, smelling mom’s famous French Toast.
“’Morning Mom.” I greeted Esme, my adoptive Mother. “Hiya sweetie.” She kissed the top of my head and handed me a plate of food. I scarfed the food down quickly, burning my tongue. I motioned with my hands for Mom to get me something cold to drink as my eyes watered. She laughed, handing me a cold glass of milk. I chugged it down. “Slow down there bud.” She told me, going back to washing the dishes.
Dad walked in and grabbed his black bag of medical stuff.
“Good morning Edward.” He smiled a gentle smile at me. Dad was always caring. “Will you come home early tonight?” I asked, he almost always stayed late at the hospital. “Yes Edward, I’ll come home early.” He sounded tired.
“Promise?”
“I promise.” I smiled at his answer, shoveling another bite of French
Toast in my mouth, before licking the plate clean… or at least trying
to before Mom caught me. “Edward!” She scolded me, taking the plate
away.“Sorry…” I muttered. I heard two sets feet run down the stairs. I looked up to see Alice chasing Emmett with a shoe in her hand, yelling at him. Mom glared at the two."Mommy, he took my favorite shirt and cleaned the toilet with it!!” Alice cried, trying to hit Emmett with said shoe.
“Just because he took something doesn’t mean you have the right to hit him.” Mom told her before turning back to Emmett.“Emmett, what you did was wrong. I’m going to have to take away your allowance until it’s enough to pay for a new shirt for Alice.” Emmett gave Mom a disbelieving look.

“But Mom!! I was gunna by a new game for my Game Boy!!” He whined and Mom shrugged.“Sorry kid, think before you act next time.” Esme told him, handing Alice a plate of French Toast, and then handing one to Emmett.
Once Alice and Emmett were done with breakfast Mom handed us our backpacks.
“Alright, everybody in the Mercedes.” Carlisle said, egging us toward
the door. We all loaded into the car and Carlisle drove us to Forks
Elementary, where Alice and I would head to Mrs. Newton’s room, the
weirdest third grade teacher ever. Emmett would head to Mr. Doggett’s
room, who he claimed was the meanest teacher in the history of school.
“Good morning class!” Mrs. Newton chirped. Half the class groaned and the
other half muttered something along the lines of good morning.“Today
we’re going to learn our 9 times tables.” I tuned her out, having
learned this last year. Bella sat at the desk beside me and was scribbling intently on a piece of paper. I ripped a piece of my own paper and passed it to her.
What are you doing?
I’m taking notes, and what are you doing? I can see you’re not taking notes, which you should be.
I sighed, she had a good point, but I knew this stuff already, for crying out loud!
I know it already. I should assume you do to, seeing as smart as you are.
I could see a blush form on her cheeks as she read it, making her all the more pretty.
Edward, honestly, whether I know it or not is nothing of your business.
You know, you talk like you’re older then 8.
She sighed, most likely annoyed with me. I looked at Mrs. Newton, who was writing 9X9 on the board.
My mother says I’m mature for my age. You know, it’s childish to pass notes.

She giggled and Mrs. Newton glanced our way.

I caught her eye and nodded, slipping the paper into my pocket. Mrs. Newton passed out papers to practice the math on and the class began to
work. So far the school day was going great.
